My ancentors used to a lot of weird things because of there heritage. Back in their day Spanish, Cubans, Puerto Ricans would eat a "Blood sausage" now a days its still around but not as common.
Now my family eats stuff like "pernil el horno" and "onion stake" we rather eat that than a blood sausage. We havent completely lost our heritage cause we still eat beans, rice and chicken. So as a whole i dont think we lost it.
As a primarily Latino male I think American food heritage are not strong at all. For the most part its "grilled food" like hot dogs and hamburgers. Its the same old thing. All you got to do is go to a fast food resturant and get a hamburger. And there located everywhere. So American heritage coming to food is not very strong.
Altough others will say its not that bad at all. I can see why because its so cheap. You can go to any fast food place and get what you when coming to burgers. As for Latino food its harder to get when not in N.Y and its more expensive. So American food can be better in a sense to price.
