Dr.Diaz: Based on chapter 3, what are some unintended output (consequences) from the industrial food train?

Based on chapter 3, some unintended output from the industrial food train is that its causes global warming, which has a negative affect. The text states," But what happens to the eighty pounds of man-made nitrogen that Naylor's corn plants don't take up? Some/ evaporates/ creates acid rain. Some/ nitrous oxide/ increases global warming." This shows that because off the food train its not only affecting the farm but the environment. Also the text states," That's around seventy-five gallons of oil per acre of corn( some estimates are much higher)" This shows that these corn has more fuel and gas then the food.
