Michael Pollan's point of view

Michael Pollan's point of view is saying killing an animal is just like killing yourself . As stated in the text '' I felt regret about killing that pig . The animal was at once different from me yet as a living creature it is in some ways the same '' this describes how Micheal Pollan thought that killing a living creature was bad idea which gave him regret . More over , the text states '' Hunters ought to be aware of the seriousness of what they are doing and never treat it lightly '' this shows how hunters should of the seriousness of killing animals .

Farzana Akther: Intresting Quote

The quote that I found interesting the book "The Omnivores Dilemma" was when the author said that "About those poisons. Scientists aren't sure why some mushrooms produce them..", I found this quote to be grabbing my attention to read the book further because it says an interesting situation that even scientists cant figure out. If  I am hooked on this one quote then it is encouraging me to read further on and question myself really do some mushrooms produce poison. Is it a self-defense mechanism against predators or is there really no true reason behind some mushrooms having the ability to produce poison?

Ana Agurcia :Homework 😁

In the book "The omnivore delimma " a sentence that stood out to me was "Each circle resembled the green face of a trendemous clock with a slowly rotating second hand". This sentence caught my are to know more  about the book , the more i read i realized the sentece was saying fruits and vegetables are healthy for your body but do you really know where it comes from or did it grow from bacteria and chemicals ? Michael pollan experience was to know where the food comes from and whats in it . From now on i would want my food from a local place since the vegetables and fruits are healthier.

Dr. Diaz: Intresting Quote πŸ™ˆ

The quote that I found intresting was, " But I could see nothing that might explain the smell- all around me were the same blue skies and golden hills." I found that this was compelling because I wanted to know more about the smell and how the farm looks like and what Pollen was describing the farms food that they grown.

Micheal pollen thinks that killing a acual living creature can be really disturbing. For example he says that he thought seeing the dead pig was more disturbing than the dead cow on his friends farm. This means that seeing a dead animal can be less disturbing than killing one.πŸ˜ͺ😷

Micheal Pollan's Claim Is That He Bilieve That It's Not Right To Kill Livivg Creatures He Feels Ashamed When He Kills A Animal.😴😴

Dr.Poole Pollan's claim in pages 240-245

Michael Pollan thinks that killing a live creature isn't a really good thing to do. He feels ashamed about him killing that innocent pig because its one of gods living creatures just like him. Also Pollan thinks that hunters should be aware of what they are doing and to not take it lightly."Hunters ought to be aware of the seriousness of what they are doing and never treat it lightly." This shows how Pollan thinks hunters shouldn't just kill an animal and not feel any remorse."When we kill an animal, especially a big mammal like a pig, it can't help reminding us of our own death." This shows how Pollan and other feel that when they kill an animal it relates to their deaths as well.

The Claim That Micheal Pollan Is Making Is That When You First Kill A Animal You Feel Confident And GoodπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ But Then You Start To Feel Bad😩😴

Dr.caba

The claim that Micheal Pollan is trying to make is that although at the moment of killing an animal you may feel excited but when you actually killed it you start to feel bad about the animal. For example he did not want to take pictures with his own pig. Through this we see his claim that he is trying to point across.  Another example is that he say s he felt a little down that he killed the pig which made him not want to see the organs because they look like human organs. From this we see the claim that he is pointing out.

Dr. Diaz: What is Pollans Claim of pg.240 - 245?

The claim that Micheal Pollan  makes in pages 240 -245 is that when you kill the animals you have this kind of emotion of sadness. When Pollan killed the pig he felt really happy with excitement, but inside he felt sad. The text states," that was probably because the pigs internal organs looked exactly like human organs." This shows that Pollan feels sick to see the inside of the pig. Also the text states," I was overcome with strong mix of emotion's" This shows that Pollan has unknown feelings for the animals.
There are plenty of concequences of the industrial food chain. Concequences come from risk. Which there are plenty of aswell. Risks include; plenty of unhealthy ingredients within variety of foods. For example on page 3, Pollan discusses his encounter with a tv dinner and he elaborates on how there are about thirty+ ingredients within the meal itself and starts to list them. The ingredients were not all healthy. Sinc ewe know the risk lets talk about the concequences. What is the outcome of unhealthy food? An unhealthy body!

Michael pollan introduced steer number 534 because that was the first cow he purchased. Which was most likely most important to him  because that was how his experience started. He introduces this cattle by telling its story from when he first met the cow.

I think the solution for the omnivore dilemma is for the food to taste better and not use chemicals while growing crops. Use everything organic basically. Also the cows are fed naturally not with corn

Tuesday, March 3, 2015

I think the the solution to the omnivore's dilemma is that they wanted their food to look fresher and taste better. When they are able to do this they will be able to make more money.

DR. PEREZ WHAT WAS POLLANS PURPOSE FOR INTODUCING STEER 534

in my opinion the purpose of steer 534 was to inform us about cows background as stated in the text "steer number 534 spent hus first six mounths in these pastures alongside his mother". these evidence that was stated in the text shows how the author is informing us about the cows background or way of life. also the text states information about mothers milk "born on march 13,2001/adding his diet of mothers milk" this evidence shows how the author is informing us about the mother cows milk
